超声波对射型传感器的特点是具有一个强有力的声束。他们在紧凑的外壳下，可实现更大的检测范围。不同于漫反射和反射板模式的传感器，对射式的传感器不需要在发射和接收之间连续转换，或者等待一个回波信号的到达。所以，他们响应的时间非常快，可以实现非常高的开关频率。
