LB远程I/O系统能够安装于危险区 Zone2或者Zone 22以及安全区。该系统是模块化的信号处理系统，是现场信号和安全区的控制系统之间的接口界面。LB远程I/O系统通过标准的总线通讯协议（PROFIBUS, Modbus 等），将传统的传感器和现场设备的信号传送给DCS。可插拔的输入和输出模块能够在线热插拔。
许多过程自动化应用包括基本的开/关开关程序。通过信标、手电筒、警报器或喇叭来记录简单状态和报警指示。对这些指标的控制，电磁阀，或其他交换功能的2个区，I类/二爆炸危险区域，倍加福提供的继电器输出与前那端。
作为LB系统远程I/O解决方案的一部分，继电器输出模块4可与8通道版本，确保尽可能利用背板模块连接，使大通道数的紧凑型远程I/O解决方案。
电隔离将模块输出从总线和电源分离出来。此外，继电器输出，支持热插拔，它允许快速和容易的模块更换而无需耗时的系统停机。
