模块化的远程I/O系统通过总线接口将现场二进制和模拟量的传感器和执行器连接至控制系统的方式传输安全区域或者爆炸危险区域的现场过程数据。模块化的远程I/O系统通过总线接口将现场二进制和模拟量的传感器和执行器连接至控制系统的方式传输安全区域或者爆炸危险区域的现场过程数据。
LB远程I/O系统能够安装于危险区 Zone2或者Zone 22以及安全区。该系统是模块化的信号处理系统，是现场信号和安全区的控制系统之间的接口界面。LB远程I/O系统通过标准的总线通讯协议（PROFIBUS, Modbus 等），将传统的传感器和现场设备的信号传送给DCS。可插拔的输入和输出模块能够在线热插拔。
频率信号输入模块用于频率测量，脉冲计数和转向检测。
